Looking for a new TV series to add to your weekly viewing schedule? Cinemax would like to take a shot at filling the void with a six-minute preview of the first episode of Strike Back, premiering Friday, August 12th at 10pm.
The show marks Cinemax’s first scripted primetime venture. The 10-hour series comes from the pens of Frank Spotnitz, Richard Zadjlic and Simon Burke, and is inspired by Sky’s Strike Back series, which grew from Chris Ryan’s best-selling book. The Cinemax version centers on two members of Section 20, a top-secret intelligence agency. Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), a British sergeant, and Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton), a discharged US Delta Force operative, join forces to track down Latif, an international terrorist about to unleash a widespread attack.
In addition to showing off the first six minutes, Cinemax is also in the midst of a massive interactive campaign in New York City. At 225 West 34th Street, you can find a giant billboard showing off some key art across 18 46” screens. This “SuperWall” lets the viewer interact with the display through a set of cameras that capture the local movement, which causes the material on the screen to react. Then, through four interactive stations, you can access the wall’s mainframe to find out more about Section 20, its key members, missions and an offer to enlist yourself.
You can check out the six-minute clip as well as some video of the SuperWall in action below. But, of course, if you’re in the area, what could be better than taking a gander in person?
