The days are fast approaching to the release of Black Tide’s, “Post Mortem”. The band’s sophomore album will drop August 23rd via DGC/Interscope Records. We love to live in the moment, but this album makes us quite excited for the afterlife. Alright, maybe that was a little bit corny, but we have been waiting for “Post Mortem”‘s release for awhile.
Black Tide has made us even cheesier with a performance of a new song, off the album, “Let It Out”. The quartet stopped by Guitar Center to showcase an unplugged version of the tune. With “Let It Out” and the other four tracks, “Honest Eyes”, “Walking Dead Man”, “That Fire” and “Bury Me”, Black Tide has already displayed wide melodic range. We cannot wait to hear the boundaries pushed with the other tunes off of “Post Mortem”.
From our interview with the band’s drummer, Steven Spence, we could immediately feel a wave of modesty and the band has only confirmed this hunch even more. As a way to thank fans and promote “Post Mortem”, Black Tide has launched a contest where the most hardcore fans will have the chance to win a trip to San Diego to hang with the band. The Grand Prize winner will head to California, stop at the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival and chill with the band. Pretty awesome, right? Fans can enter to win by helping spread the word about “Post Mortem”. There is no limit on entries, so fans can enter as many times as they want. Referring 1,000 friends will score you 1,000 entries. Good luck, Shockya readers!
