TruTV has picked up four episodes of Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg’s (producer of “Guess Who” and” The Butterfly Effect”) new reality TV series called “California DMV: Field Offices. “The series is a look inside the daily workings of the DMV’s California workers. Here’s the official press release surrounding the show. The upcoming series will “provide an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes look at hard-working personnel who deal with everything from issuing licenses and registering vehicles to maintaining accident records and investigating complaints.”
The partnership with TruTV comes through Kutcher’s production company Katalyst. His partner Jason Goldberg, who Kutcher worked with on “Punk’d”, has discussed their new DMV show as well, calling it a unique “glimpse at what DMV workers experience, from strange to hilarious.” Meanwhile Marc Juris, the Executive VP and General Manager of TruTV, also made a few statements about the upcoming series, “California DMV: Field Offices” will be “ready to jump behind the counter and see what really happens. This promises to be a fast-paced, fun series, and we’re excited to be working with Katalyst for the first time.”
Filming on the show will kick off soon at several undisclosed California offices, with a premiere date on the horizon.
