MSNBC anchor/host of “The Ed Show” Ed Schultz apologized Tuesday for playing a clip with Texas Gov. Rick Perry out of context.

Schultz played a clip in which Perry seems to refer to President Obama as a “big black cloud” over America. Schultz said that the clip showed evidence of racism in the Republican field. However, the full clip wasn’t pertaining to Obama at all–Perry was talking about America’s debt.

Schultz said Tuesday that even though he apologized for the mistake, he still feels there is enough evidence to show that Perry is aiming to give Obama a bad name.

“Last night, we played a clip of Gov. Perry talking about the debt being a ‘big black cloud’ over this country,” Schultz said Tuesday. “We did not present the full context of those statements and we should’ve…no doubt about it, it was a mistake and we regret the error. On this particular statement, we should not have included it in our coverage of his overheated rhetoric. That’s our mistake.”
