A lot of people think they are experts on comedy, but now here’s the chance to put your money where your mouth is, literally! FunnyForMoney.com, created by co-hosts/producers Ari Ecker and Joe Yakacki, is a new topical online comedy contest which allows people to win prizes for writing punchlines. The site is especially catered to YouTube users.
How FunnyForMoney works is that FunnyForMoney will post 10 topical headlines each week. After registering for the website, participants from all over the U.S. will then be able to upload their punchlines directly to the site. The number of punchlines a person can upload are unlimited for one or all 10 punchlines, so the more you upload, the better your chances are of winning $100 or the weekly grand prize of $500.
“It’s fun and easy to play,” said Ecker. “Even if you don’t submit a punchline, you still can win the same prize money just by voting for the winning contestants.”
“As the FunnyForMoney contest grows over the next several months, the stakes will increase substantially,” said Yakacki. “There will be four grand prizes of $10,000 awarded each month. Just go to FunnyForMoney.com and see how.”
To promote the site, FunnyForMoney has partnered with ShockYa for this exclusive Flip camera giveaway. Like usual, this will be a Twitter giveaway. Here’s how to win the Flip camera, which is pictured below.
First, follow us on Twitter @Shockya if you don’t already. Retweet us with the phrase, “I want a Flip camera!” You have until Sunday, September 4th at 5 p.m. to retweet us, and only retweet once. The winner will be chosen at random.
Good luck, and make sure to check out FunnyForMoney.com!
