‘Twilight’ actresses Anna Kendrick and Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1), ‘2012’ director Roland Emmerich, ‘Super Size Me’ filmmaker Morgan Spurlock and ‘Twixt’ actor David Paymer have all been named as honorees for the 2011 Spotlight Initiative Awards. The honorees will receive awards during the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.

The honorees will be celebrated at a dinner on September 10, 2011 at the Roosevelt Room. They have been chosen for their contribution to the world of independent filmmaking. The Spotlight Initiative was created in 2008 to support independent films that feature a positive message and social relevance, and celebrate the art of filmmaking.

Robin Bronk, the CEO of the Creative Coalition, which supports the Spotlight Initiative Awards, said “The range of work from this year’s honorees is a true testament to why we created the (award). Actors and filmmakers are under no obligation to use film as a venue to educate audiences on social issues, but our 2011 class of recipients has done a masterful job in doing so throughout their careers.”
