‘Cowboys and Aliens’ star Olivia Wilde has been cast in the leading role of director Peter Glanz’s ‘The Longest Week’. Described as an indie comedy, Wilde will star in the story of Conrad Valmont, an “affluent and aimless” soul, who lives a life of “leisure in his parents prestigious Manhattan hotel. In the span of one week, he finds himself evicted, disinherited and in love,” according to Variety. Wilde will presumably be playing the girl he falls in love with.
‘The Longest Week’ is actually an adaption from Glanz’s previously released short film entitled ‘A Relationship in Four Days’. Making the circuit rounds, screening at both the Sundance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival back in 2008, here’s the synopsis per IMDb. “Coming from a wealthy family, Paul recently turned 30 and has never had, or needed a real job. Lost in his own imagination, he often preaches his grand ideas, but in reality never does much… until he meets Sabine.” The lead roles where formally played by Pete Chekvala and Liesl Gaffney-Dawson.
Bringing ‘The Longest Week’ to the big screen marks Glanz’s directorial debut. The drama will most likely hit theaters sometime next year. Meanwhile, Wilde’s dance card is currently chalk full. The actress is on board a slew of new movies such as Blackbird, In Time, Better Living Through Chemistry, with several other rumored attachments.
