As new metal fans, we found ourselves drawn to the instrumentals of a track, often looking over the vocals and the lyrics. At first, we didn’t have an interest in digging through the aggressive vocals, but now, we think that was only because we hadn’t found a band we could say we were true fans of. The times have changed and we can finally create a list of metal bands we enjoy.
Leading the metal pack are the men of Five Finger Death Punch. The heavy metal band, which currently consists of guitarist, Zoltan Bathory, guitarist and backing vocalist, Jason Hook, bassist and backing vocalist, Chris Kael, vocalist, Ivan Moody and drummer, Jeremy Spencer, will release their third studio album. “American Capitalist” October 11th. We got a chance to interview Hook about the upcoming album, but we’ll reveal his answers a little closer to the album’s release date.
What we do have for you, in the time being, is the group’s video for the single, “Under and Over It”. Directed by noted film director, Ethan Maniquis, the video takes a satirical approach by blatantly depicting scenes you would see in just about any rock or rap video. You know those handfuls of videos you saw with barely clothed girls, pools, mansions and some dirty dancing? Well, the video for “Under and Over It” brings each element of this list to an exaggerated level that resonates well with the lyrics of the tune. Having Five Finger Death Punch poke some fun at the cliche aspects of the industry makes us like them that much more.
With the “American Capitalist” anticipation building, Five Finger Death Punch have only added more fuel to the album’s fire by announcing an upcoming headlining run with the ‘Share The Welt Tour’. Heading out to support Five Finger Death Punch on the tour are All That Remains, Hatebreed and Rev Theory. Tickets are on sale now to the general public and VIP packages are available here and the band’s official site/.
After purchasing those tickets, you can go ahead and pre-order “American Capitalist” at iTunes, Amazon, Best Buy, Newberry Comics and more.
