Smallville show runners Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have both been added to the ranks of CW’s latest sci-fi series The Secret Circle. It looks like the network just gave fans another reason to watch. Peterson and Souders are the duo who helped breathe new life into the stagnate superboy series back in 2008, making the last couple of years of the long running show what it once was in the ratings.
The Smallville alums will join the series with Kevin Williamson, The Secret Circles executive producer who recently told fans – “if you like The Vampire Diaries, this is a show you will enjoy just as well, [but] they’re two different worlds. They’re from the same novelist but the worlds don’t intersect.”
So far the CW has aired the pilot, with a new episode on the way. For the unknown here’s the plot behind The Secret Circle with actress Brit Robertson. The “series follows 16-year-old Cassie, who moves from California to live with her grandmother in New Salem and falls in love with a mysterious boy named Adam. But, when she enrolls in high school there, she realizes that he, she and all the other elite students at the school are witches! She befriends their leader, Diana, but soon discovers that Adam and Diana are dating, which leads to a whole bunch of complicated drama.”
The Secret Circle airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
