Army Wives actress Kim Delaney was escorted off the stage at an event in Philadelphia to honor Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates. The formal celebration took place at the National Constitution Center where Delaney attempted to make a speech, appearing incoherent and under the influence.
Standing up on stage disheveled according to ABC’s reports, Delaney tried to speak but had a difficult time with the words. “I served in active military duty family for five years.” “I’ve seen soldiers come home with painful life altering injuries borne of their time and service. I’ve attended numerous military funerals, including that of my best friend’s son. It’s all make believe. I do that as a job. It’s make believe,” she said nearly two minutes into her speech. “I have the luxury to do all of this on a television show.”
Before the actress could finish the rest of her speech she was escorted off the stage while Robert Gates appeared incredibly uncomfortable. Struggling for years with an alcohol problem, several sources are stating that Delaney was most likely drunk. Her most recent rehab stint for substance abuse was back in 2006. Sad news, hopefully the talented Delaney gets the help she needs. See the video below.
