Time to get your calendars out because we have some tour date announcements for you Shockya readers. Benedictum and DesDemon have teamed up for the “Path of the Valkyries” U.S. tour to promote their recent studio records. The metal heads band will be performing in the U.S. in November, so you have more than enough time to acquaint yourselves with their tunes.
We will get you started. Founded in San Diego, Benedictum released their first album, “Uncreation”, in 2006. Since their creation, the metal band has experienced several lineup changes. Solidifying the lineup with vocalist, Veronica Freeman, guitarist, Pete Wells, bassist, Chris Shrum, keyboardist, Tony Diaz and drummer, Micky Pannone, Benedictum released their second album, “Seasons of Tragedy” in 2008. The group’s upcoming tour with DesDemon will be in support of their third release, “Dominion”, which dropped in 2011 via Frontiers Records.
DesDemon, who hails from the NYC metal scence, also is fronted by a female, Chelsea Knaack. The band released their debut, “Through The Gates” via Radtone Music Japan and the album will soon be available in all retail and online markets. “Through The Gates” has an extensive and impressive list of guest musicians including, Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex- Iced Earth, Yngwie Malmsteen, Beyond Fear, Charred Walls of the Damned, Hell Yeah!), Amanda Somerville (Trillium, Avantasia, Somerville/Kiske, HDK, Epica), Sander Gommans (Trillium, After Forever, HDK) and Joe Stump (Holyhell).
They have both individually shared the stage with international artists, such as Doro, Primal Fear, Tyr, Korpiklaani, Rotting Christ, Epicurean, Mantic Ritual, Paul DiAnno, and Icarus Witch. Starting November 10th in Orlando/Altomonte Springs at The Haven, FL, Benedictum and DesDemon will be sharing the stage together. The November dates include:
November 11th at The Pathfinder Metalfest 3 in Marrieta, GA
November 12th at Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC
November 17th at Ralf’s Diner in Worcester, MA
November 18th at Dublin Pub in New Hyde Park, NY
November 19th at Flight of the Valkyries Festival in Baltimore, Maryland.
