Paramount Pictures has announced that it will debut ‘Paranormal Activity 3’ in the top 20 cities around the world where the most fans “Tweet To See It First.” The campaign, which is currently open, is the first of its kind, and will premiere the anticipated second sequel in the supernatural horror series on October 18th, three days before the film’s global release.
Fans can participate in the campaign by visiting the ‘Paranormal Activity 3‘ website, and select their city from a global map. This will serve as the point of entry to create a tweet with special hash tags that link directly to Twitter. The tweet will count as a vote once it’s posted. A leader board will keep track of the top 20 global markets in real time.
The “Tweet To See It First” competition ends on Thursday, October 13 at 11:59 pm PDT. The winning 20 cities will be announced the following day.
Rob Moore, the Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures, has said “The support of this franchise from the online community is phenomenal. We again look to reward them for that support by offering them the chance to see it first, this time expanding our reach globally.”
‘Paranormal Activity 3,’ which was directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, acts a prequel to its two predecessors. It follows young sisters Katie and Kristi in 1988 as an invisible entity haunts their home. At first, it appears to be friendly, but then turns hostile.
