Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has signed a television deal with CBS and CBS TV Studios to appear in his own comedy series, Deadline is reporting. For the project, which will be his first ever starring television role, Durst has partnered with CBS TV Studios producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum for a half-hour comedy, in which he’ll star in and produce.
The series, which is still untitled, has received a script commitment. The show will follow a rock legend trying to balance his high profile lifestyle with trying to raise a family. The show will be written by ‘Mr. Sunshine’s Matthew Carlson, who will also executive produce. Durst previously showed his acting ability on the short-lived NBC series ‘Revelations’ and FOX’s ‘House.’
The show was brought to the Tannenbaum Co. by John Schneider, Durst’s manager and producer. Schneider, who is already in business with the Tannenbaums, CBS Studios and CBS, will serve as a non-writing producer.
Last season, Schneider developed a family comedy with his brother, actor Rob Schneider, which was inspired by Rob’s real-life experiences. That project recently received a mid-season series order by CBS.
