Our love for Jane’s Addiction just keeps on growing. Not only do we give them credit for showing us how rock has no boundaries, but also for proving to us that time does not have to dictate a career. It has been eight long years since the legendary band has released a studio album, but as of October 18th that has changed. Well, let’s bump that announcement up a week because as of Tuesday, October 11th, “The Great Escape Artist” started streaming on iTunes. The band’s fourth studio album has been mastered specifically for iTunes to optimize sound quality when downloaded. Click here to listen to the album!
“The Great Escape Artist” was produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol) with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek on the creative team. Sitek, who is best known for his production work for TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Foals, is writing, programming and playing the bass on the album. The record’s single, “Irresistible Force”, is already a Top Ten hit on the alternative rock chart.
While we have your utmost Jane’s Addiction attention, we just have one more area to touch upon. Frontman, Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer, Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass, recently sold out two shows in both Chicago and Los Angeles.
We’ll, leave you Shockya readers with this bit of information: In 2012, Jane’s Addiction will embark on a world tour. So stay tuned to the band’s official site for the latest updates!
