Transformer director Michael Bay is said to be working on a new crime series for the CW. On board as an executive producer, Bay will be teaming up on the show ‘Outsiders’ with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Per Variety, the first TV project for Bay will center on a sociology professor “with an almost savant like expertise in subcultures, who partners with a young but uptight female detective.” Together the two will tackle crimes in Los Angeles.
Outsiders is from Michal Bay’s Platinum Dunes Production Company and CBS Television Studios. The script comes Supernatural and The Cleaner writer Adam Glass. Top exec Mark Pedowitz from the CW has said “he’s interested in expanding the net’s reach beyond the core 18-34 female demo. A Bay series would likely bring along a male audience, and potentially tap into the international market.”
Michael Bay is currently said to be working on the 2012 movie ‘The Hauntrepreneur’ from writer Scott Rosenberg. The flick centers on “a family struggling to adjust to their new hometown until a strange man helps out by turning their home into a haunted house.” For those who thought Bay was also on board Transformers four and five, the director cleared things up recently, stating that he is in fact “not involved” at all.
“I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports. I’m looking at a lot of possibilities coming my way right now weighing options. Most likely going to be doing the low budget Pain and Gain, a true story crime thriller. It’s a very quick shoot and quite funny. Also just finishing the 3 disc set of the Transformer trilogy.”
