Desperate housewives creator Marc Cherry has his next project lined up after the ladies of the notorious Wisteria Lane finally say goodbye. According to AceShowbiz, Cherry will work with Sabrina Wind, David Lenner, John Mass and Larry Shuman, on a new comedy drama currently titled ‘Devious Maids. Desperate Housewives alumni Eva Longoria will be headlining the adaption that is based on the Mexican telenovela ‘The Disorderly Maids of the Neighborhood’.
The show will chronicle four Latina maids, all working in the posh and swanky setting of Beverly Hills. Cherry will be reportedly penning that is set to air on the ABC Network. Whether Devious will follow suit with the Mexican telenovela’s mystery, mayhem and murder story lines was not revealed, but after seven years spinning wild tales on Desperate, Cherry will most likely continue on with the drama. With Desperate Housewives wrapping up its final season this Spring, Maids should be on the way shortly.
Meanwhile, Cherry is still working on the spiritual drama Hallelujah that is also slated to air on ABC. The project follows “a stranger who arrives in the small town of Hallelujah, Tenn., which is being torn apart by the forces of good and evil. ”
