Thanksgiving is time to sit around with loved ones and enjoy a meal made with care. In a less sentimental way, it is about food and family. Why not throw some music into that holiday mix? How about playing tunes from Frank Sinatra? Capitol Records and Sinatra’s own Reprise Records have gathered a new collection, “Sinatra: Best of the Best”, which will be released in a single-disc and in a deluxe two CD packages on November 15th. The compilation will also include track notes written by Frank Sinatra Jr.
“Best of the Best” tracklist is in chronological order, starting with the 1953 hit, “I’ve Got The World On A String”. The album continues to travel through the Sinatra time with Capital Records recordings like “Come Fly With Me”, “Love and Marriage” and “You Make Me Feel So Good”. “Best of the Best” also features Reprise recordings like “Night and Day”, “The Way You Look Tonight” and “My Way”. Covering just about three decades of Sinatra’s legendary career, “Best of the Best” consists of a total of 23 tracks. The second disc contains a previously out-of-print and sought-after Seattle concert recording and is packaged in a light-top box with an expanded booklet and 6 postcards.
Welcome in the fall holiday with Frank Sinatra’s “Best of the Best” and reminisce about the good old Sinatra days. If that era does not apply to you then sit back and listen to the words of your elders.
