According to Variety, singer and actor Justin Timberlake has been offered the role of a folk musician in Ethan and Joel Coen’s upcoming movie ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’. The story follows a singer-songwriter who “navigates New York’s folk music scene during the 1960s.” ‘Inception’ and ‘Shame’ actress Carey Mulligan has already signed on, if Timberlake agrees he would play the performer’s on screen husband in a co-lead role, alongside Drive star Oscar Isaac
The only possible problem – J.T., whose recent acting venture ‘In Time’ is currently playing in theaters, has announced that he plans to go on hiatus from his busy days in both the music industry and the acting biz. With the Coen brother’s film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ slated for release (per IMDb) in 2013, maybe J.T. will consider taking on the new project. The actor has yet to firm up whether he has accepted the role just yet. The movie will be produced by Scott Rudin of No Country For Old Men fame.
Justin Timberlake’s film credits range from Alpha Dog to Bad Teacher, the already mentioned In Time, Black Snake Moan, The Social Network, The Love Guru, and The Open Road. Will Timberlake take on the role? Give us your thoughts below.
