Naming a song with “All I Ever Wanted” is a tricky thing to do. The title is only four words, but the meaning behind the terms is very powerful. The Airborne Toxic Event made this bold attempt and more than delivered with insightful lyrics wrapped around an infectious melody.
The indie rock band, which consists of vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist, Mike Jollett, guitarist and keyboardist, Steven Chen, bassist and backing vocalist, Noah Harmon, drummer, Daren Taylor and multi-instrumentalist, Anna Bulbrook, recently released the music video for the track, “All I Ever Wanted”. Directed by Jon Danvic the video is a loose retelling of the short story, “The Hitchhiking Game” by Milan Kundera and was shot in the hills in the middle of nowhere, north of Los Angeles. With actors, Jesse Hoy and Nora Kirkpatrick, falling for each other, the video oozes with warm affection. The romantic storyline is captivating, but what’s more enthralling is the passion The Airborne Toxic Event exudes when simply jamming. The band doesn’t just set the tempo of “All I Ever Wanted”, they bring the love and instill it within the lyrics.
