This Daily Shock is shocking in the morbid sense. According to the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press, the bed Michael Jackson died in, as well as other items from his home, will be auctioned.
According to the articles, hundreds of belongings from Jackson’s Holmby Hills home will be sold December 17, including a chalkboard in the kitchen with “I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it’s for free,” written on it by one of his children, which is expected to sell for more than $400. Other items up for auction include upholstered chairs with Jackson’s makeup smudges from the “medication room,” the bedroom shown in the the evidence photos during the trial of Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray. Murray was found to be guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions, said to the AP that they hope to “preserve the history of these items.” Also, Perry Sanders, Jr., the attorney for Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, stated to AP that he knows of the auction and has done everything he can to make sure that the items being auctioned do not have Jackson’s “name and likeness to enhance the items’ value.”
I’m not sure who would want the bed someone died in, even if the person who died was the King of Pop. But I’m sure that bed, as well as all of those items, are going to be worth tons of money.
What do you think about the auction? Do you think it’s something great for Jackson’s fans? And would you buy someone’s deathbed? Give your opinions below.
