It seems like fledgling ABC drama “Pan Am” is still flying high, so high that they have hired a new actress, which might be a shock to quite a few of the television-watching community. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Ashley Greene, the actress who portrays Alice Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”, has been given a three-episode role in the show.
According to the article, Greene will play a debutante who knew co-pilot Ted’s (Michael Mosely) in the past. The first episode she’ll appear in is called “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” which will air December 4. Perhaps this new development in the life of Ted will shed some more light on what really makes him tick, because we’ve gotten some great backstory about him in the episode, “Ich Bin Ein Berliner.” Hopefully, we’ll get to see some more of that sort of storytelling and acting.
“Pan Am” is the only new ABC show that has yet to be picked up for a full season–ABC has ordered five more scripts and has also hired veteran showrunner Steven Maeda. Also, according to the article, “Pan Am” is very popular overseas, something else that could swing the show into a season 2 order (hopefully).
What do you think about Greene joining the cast of “Pan Am” for a few episodes? What kind of stake do you think she had in Ted’s past? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
