Despite the amount of detail Harry Potter fans have about their favorite Boy Who Lived, the one thing fans don’t know is what he was allergic to. While we don’t know what sets off the character’s allergies, we do now know what sets off Daniel Radcliffe’s, and the answer is quite ironic.

According to The Huffington Post, Radcliffe said he was allergic to the glasses he had to wear when portraying the popular book character. Radcliffe talks about his allergy in one of the extras on the now-available DVD/Blu-ray release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two,” a conversation between J.K. Rowling and Radcliffe.

His glasses gave him a rash around his eyes, he said in the interview. “Eventually we realized I was allergic to them. I had these two rings of white heads and spots that had come up around my eyes.”

You can watch the video of Radcliffe discussing the rather ironic allergy in the video embedded below the post.
