This Tuesday, November 15th, is a special album release day; it commemorates a career that has survived the common music trend of an artist dwindling once his or her genre no longer defines the decade. The latest singer to triumph through the typecast of a late 90s pop artist is Howie D of The Backstreet Boys. Dropping this week, his debut solo album, “Back To Me” features the singles, “100” and “Lie To Me” as well as 11 other unheard tunes.
What’s even more exciting than the release of a Howie D album? Well maybe that “Back To Me” could be yours for free. In honor of his Backstreet Boys days, post a brief story that describes the moment when you knew that The Backstreet Boys were the princes of pop, not ‘N SYNC. The tales should be no more than 300 words and focus on the first time you saw the group in concert or heard one of their CDs or hung their poster on your wall or even met them. You get the point.
You have until the end of the week, November 30th to share your tales that pushed The Boys to the forefront of the pop world. Remember to post your “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” words in the comment section of this article and to e-mail your entry to freestuff@shockya.com.
