The latest chapter in the Penn State sexual molestation case involves former defensive coordinator for Penn State Jerry Sandusky finally giving his side of the story.

According to the Los Angeles Times and People Magazine, Jerry Sandusky admitted that he has had instances with children. “I have horsed around with kids,” he said in an interview with Bob Costas for “Rock Center with Brian Williams,” which aired Monday. “I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without sexual contact.” Of the accusations of sexual molestation, Sandusky said, “I say that I am innocent of those charges,” and when asked by Bob Costas if he was a pedophile, Sandusky said, “No.” However, he did say in the interview, “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.”

According to “Rock Center”, Sandusky has a 40-count indictment against him with the allegations that he has sexually molested eight boys over the course of 15 years. The allegations have made Penn State the headline for days, embarrassing the school and the devoted students and alumni. The allegations have also led to the firings of many officials at the school, including legendary coach Joe Paterno as well as the president of Penn State, for not properly reporting the crimes and not protecting the children involved.

Sandusky’s charity for children, the Second Mile, is also facing scrutiny because of a grand jury report accusing Sandusky of using the Second Mile as a way to find his victims, according to the L.A. Times. Also, according to the L.A. Times, the charity’s chief executive has been replaced an internal investigation has been put in action.
