I don’t think the critics’ opinions matter when it comes to fan favorites like the “Twilight” films.

The critics and the audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes couldn’t be farther apart. The critics gave it a scathing score of 28%, but the audience loved it, giving it a 92% completely fresh rating. Rotten Tomatoes’ summary of the critics reviews address this a little; “Slow, joyless and loaded with unintentionally humorous moments, ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1’ may satisfy the ‘Twilight’ faithful, but it’s strictly for fans of the franchise,” wrote the site.

Most critics gave it terrible reviews, sure, but there are a few fresh reviews from critics. David Edelstein from New York Magazine wrote that “[t]he last twenty minutes of ‘Breaking Dawn’ are so harrowing that it’s possible to forget that most of the acting is soap-operatic,” he wrote. Alisa Caine for Little White Lies wrote very glowingly of the film, writing that it is “[d]arker, sexier, sharper–a neat next step.”

Now that you’ve heard what the critics think, what do you think about the film? Did you love it or did you hate it like most of the critics? And are you ready to see the final part of “Breaking Dawn”? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
