Classifying electronic music amongst the “founding father” genres vividly shows the journey music has taken over the decades. Since the Beatles days of brilliant music simplicity, artists have expanded on the Fab Four’s template by incorporating heavily infused and hard driven tempos. You can say music may have taken a turn for the worse since the glorious 60s days, but it is hard to not succumb to the head nodding ways of electronic music.
Dynasty Electric is a group that will allow you to bob away without feeling that Beatles guilt. The outfit, which consists of multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer, Seth Misterka and lead singer Jenny Electrik, dropped their third record, “Golden Arrows”, independently, in May 2011. In that same year, the duo signed with NoShame and released a new single and music video for the tune, “Electric Love”.
The video for the track defines the escape a rave offers with the tune’s layered tempo accompanied by stimulating graphics. Yes, that description might fit many videos in the techno world, but “Electric Love” has a psychedelic kick to it. Electrik’s vocals are as unique as that of Santigold’s, but minus the hip-hop and plus the indie. This statement only shows the never-ending life cycle of music and why everyone can find a home within it.
Electronic songs are the babies in the music world, but with bands like, Dynasty Electric, these songs could in a short time outgrow the tunes that are decades older.
