The latest woman to come out and claim an affair with Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain has the candidate “reassessing” his campaign, according to what a top campaign source told CNN.
According to Headline News, the source told CNN that Cain told his staff that he is “reassessing” his campaign’s viability. According to the source, the decision as to whether Cain will stay on course is expected “within a few days,” particularly if the funding for his campaign comes to a halt.
Cain has told Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s “The Situation Room” that the latest allegations made by Georgia woman Ginger White are not true; he acknowledges knowing the woman, but he said an affair never happened. White, a 46-year-old former fitness instructor and mother of two adult children, according to The Washington Post, has come out saying that she has had a 13-year affair with the candidate that only ended about eight months ago, when Cain announced his bid for the presidency, according to WAGA.
This certainly is adding fuel to the fire of whether Cain is viable as a candidate, but other candidates have had affairs and became president (Bill Clinton, anyone?). What do you think this latest allegation will do to Cain’s campaign? And what do you think his decision regarding his campaign might be? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
