Kermit the Frog came to the CNN New York studio December 1 to promote “The Muppets” and his reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” with First Lady Obama at the annual tree-lighting ceremony at the White House that night. He answered questions with T.J. Holmes and Wolf Blitzer and actually gave some interesting information.
For instance, we now know how old Kermit is. “I’m 55 years old,” he said. “I know it’s hard to believe.”
Also, he spoke about his time doing hard-hitting journalism with Rapunzel on “Sesame Street” (if you recall, Kermit was like the neighborhood reporter). “There’s all sorts of stuff going on behind the scenes with her, you don’t want to know,” he said.
He also said he’s going to lobby for a certain issue that affects Miss Piggy more than him–inter-species dating. “She’s evidently for [it], I’m not so sure about [it],” he said, but he said to those who are worried about dating pigs that “it’s gonna get sorted out.”
Also, after saying that Blitzer should get his own network (“Wolf News”, which later changed called “Wolf and Frog”), Kermit said that he would be on CNN if Netw Gingrich was being interviewed. “Newt is from the swamp,” he said. “We both speak amphibian, we’d be fine.”
