Variety is reporting that director Tony Scott has picked up his latest project. Scott will helm the 20th Century drug thriller ‘Narco Sub’. The final discussions reportedly took place over the Thanksgiving weekend. The upcoming flick will follow the inner workings of a drug cartel and their use of submersible crafts to smuggle drugs into the United States, per Hey You Guys. Other than that not much else has been revealed in terms of plot details. With the studio said to be eager about the project, production on Narco Sub should be moving quickly into the production phase.
The movie was penned by David Guggenheim of Safe House and Stolen fame with the help of producer Simon Kinberg. The picture will be produced through Scott’s company, Scott Free Productions, as well as Kinberg’s own banner Genre films. The big question from the masses now seems to be whether or not Denzel Washington will lead the cast of Tony Scott’s new project that has been described as a film similar to Man on Fire.
Scott’s work over the years includes Domino, Deja Vu, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 , the recent Unstoppable, Enemy of the State, Beverly Hills Cop II, Top Gun and Crimson Tide.
