Ice Cube may appear in his first television series regular role in the upcoming FX revenge drama ‘Eye for an Eye,’ according to the Hollywood Reporter. If the rapper-actor decides to appear in ‘Eye for an Eye,’ he’ll play a veteran paramedic who, after years of responding to violent crimes, takes matters into his own hands. He becomes a vigilante set on revenge.
Ice Cube’s company, Cube Vision, is producing the series, which is currently in development. The actor will executive produce ‘Eye for an Eye’ with his Cube Vision partner, Matt Alvarex. The show is also being executive produced by Jeff Kwatinet and his Prospect Park partner, Josh Barry.
Prospect Park has recently made news for abandoning its plans to air canceled ABC soap operas ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ online. But the company has been busy with several other shows this development season, including ‘GILF,’ which is set up at FX and features ‘Wilfred’ star Jason Gann.
Besides ‘Eye for an Eye,’ Ice Cube is executive producing the TBS sitcom ‘Are We There Yet’ series, which is based on his movie of the same name. He’ll also be featured in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit FOX series ’21 Jump Street.’
‘Eye for an Eye’ joins several other shows currently in development at the cable network. The shows include projects by ‘Justified’ producer Graham Yost, Dennis Lehane and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ singer Anthony Kiedis.
