Juno Temple, Wes Bentley and Sharon Stone have joined the cast of the upcoming biopic ‘Lovelace,’ Collider is reporting. They join already cast main star Amanda Seyfried, who’s set to portray Linda Boreman, more widely known by her stage name Linda Lovelace.
‘Lovelace’ will follow Linda as she films ‘Deep Throat,’ chronicle her abusive relationship with Chuck Traynor, played by Peter Sarsaard, and her eventual leading of the feminist anti-pornography movement. Temple, Bentley and Stone will play Linda’s best friend, second husband and mother, respectively.
The screenplay was written by Andy Bellin, who adapted the story from Eric Danville’s biography ‘The Complete Linda Lovelace.’ In the book, Danville quoted Lovelace, saying she didn’t content to the acts she performed in ‘Deep Throat.’ She was coerced by Traynor to do so with an M-16 rifled pointed at her head.
“In response to his (Traynor) suggestions, I let hm know I would not become involved in prostitution in any way and told him I intended to leave,” Lovelace also said in the biography. In response to her threat, he “beat me up physically and the constant mental abuse began. I literally became a prisoner.”
Lovelace also said that she wasn’t allowed out of Traynor’s sight, and he slept on top of her at night. He would listen to her phone calls “with a .45 automatic eight shot pointed at me…He undermined my ties with other people and forced me to marry him on advice from his lawyer.”
