The family-friendly film “We Bought a Zoo” starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson have an early showing scheduled for those who want to see it before it officially opens.

According to Deadline, the Cameron Crowe-directed film had 800 sneak peeks over Thanksgiving that were “sizzling”. According to the site, sellouts of the sneak previews were recorded in New York, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Boston, Orlando, Philadelphia, Detroit and Kansas City. Exit scores were also over 995 in every section and the audiences that went to see the film were made up of multiple generations, showing the wide appeal of the film .

The latest sneak preview will be held Saturday, Dec. 10. The film will be officially released Dec. 23.

The synopsis of “We Bought A Zoo” is, according to the film’s official Facebook page:

“This holiday season, acclaimed filmmaker Cameron Crowe (‘Jerry Maguire,’ ‘Almost Famous’) directs an amazing and true story about a single dad who decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places: a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonder and glory.”
