Actor James Franco is now dabbling in film reviews. The star of such films as “Pineapple Express” and “127 Hours”, has written his own review on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”. And while fans of the actor, who isn’t afraid to take on just about anything, are excited, Twilight fans are a little angry, with some media outlets ripping the actor’s review apart. Franco, who previously shared that he wanted to be a part of the cast of the Twilight franchise, had his thoughts on the Bill Condon directed adaption published by Paris Review, but the outcome wasn’t a positive one.
Here’s a snippet from Franco’s Breaking Dawn film review, “The actors prance about like pieces of meat, their disturbingly developed bodies on full display; Taylor Lautner’s rippling teenage chest is just a little better than the child beauty-pageant stars at the end of Little Miss Sunshine.”
Franco does have a good argument when it comes to the Twilight Saga’s play on rippling teenage muscles and more, but who doesn’t want to see the biggest adaptions come to life? He also adds his opinions on being sexually responsible when teens are involved.
“A few other forbidden territories are broken in as well. The protagonists finally marry, having waited until the wise old age of eighteen, and since the book and the film dutifully show them being wed, they are then allowed to f— each others’ brains out. For a film that claims to be sexually responsible, the ‘Twilight’ movies are awfully dependent on teenage sex to attract viewers.”
What do you think of James Franco’s take on Breaking Dawn Part One? Is some of the negative backlash Franco is receiving understandable?
