Now that the Madonna has been confirmed as this coming year’s Super Bowl halftime performer, it has been revealed that the fifty-three year old has teamed up with a slew of talents from Cirque du Soleil. Madonna is reportedly working on her upcoming performance with a creative team from the well-known production, as well as choreographer Jamie King, and the Canadian entertainment studio Moment Factory.
Sounds like Madonna is aiming to make her Super Bowl halftime show one of the more memorable performances. The longtime singer, and recent movie director of the film W.E. that was just featured this past September at the Venice Film Festival and opened on Dec. 9th, has never been a featured artist at the annual football competition that is one of the most watch events of the year. The Super Bowl is slated to take place on February 5, 2012 and will be held at the Lucas Oil Stadium located in Indianapolis.
Rumored for months, the news of Madonna’s upcoming performance was confirmed this past Sunday night by the NFL with the game being broadcast by NBC. Other past performers to headline the big event include the Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and more.
