Google is celebrating New Year’s Day 2012 with a new doodle. The drawing represents several popular resolutions and tasks people have pledged to part part in throughout the forthcoming months. The search engine replaced its official logo on its homepage with colorful letters performing the different tasks.
The big G is wearing headphones as it learns to say hello in different languages, while the two Os are exercising to get in shape. The small G is playing a song on a guitar, while the L is busy reading a book. The E is busying sweeping up the mess made at its New Year’s Eve party. There is a new calendar on the wall behind the E.
When users click on the doodle, the latest New Year’s news is loaded. There is also a link underneath the Google Doodle that allows users to add the search engine to their electronic devices. Users can make Google their default search engine, or join Google+ to download apps from the android Market and Chrome Web Store.
The New Year’s Google Doodle comes after the search engine posted a New Year’s Eve drawing yesterday. The doodle featured the Google logo letters wearing New Year’s hats and outfits, and throwing sparklers, confetti and balloons.
