Simon Pegg is the perfect person to play Hugh “Wee Hughie” Campbell, the main character from the indie comic book “The Boys”–the character’s likeness is based on Pegg and the subject matter of the comic book is right up Pegg’s alley (the comic book is set in a world where superheroes exist, but they don’t typically act like model citizens). However, Pegg isn’t sure if he’ll be the right age to play the character when the movie finally gets the green light.

According to Reelz.com, Pegg said in an MTV interview that he thinks he might be too old to play Wee Hughie when Columbia finally signs off on the production of the film. You can listen to what he had to say about the role and his age in the interview which can be found below the post or at Reelz.com.

“The Boys” is written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Darrick Robertson. The live-action version of the comic book will be directed by Adam McKay and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Jason Netter of Kickstart Productions.

What do you think about Pegg starring as the main character of “The Boys”? How do you fell about the comic book becoming a film? Give your opinions below.
