The multi-million dollar Twilight Saga franchise could be given a new life line after the last installment “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” opens in theaters on November 16th 2012. Thanks to a heads up from Digital Spy, and word from Jon Feltheimer, the chief of Lionsgate, it looks like a Twilight TV series could be in the works. Talking with the Los Angeles Times, Feltheimer shared that he sees a future for the trio of Edward, Bella, and Jacob. “I’m anticipating Breaking Dawn Part 2 being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office.” Adding that, “it’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value.
The Lionsgate chief also went on to say that he hopes that there will be future plans for the Stephenie Meyer’s adaption, with the movie house giant hoping to adapt the Twilight Saga into a weekly series. “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is, ‘Boy I hope so’.” All of this comes after Lions Gate’s $412.5 million purchase of Summit Entertainment, the film studio to deliver the famous vampire flicks to the big screen.
