After premiering at Sundance, Buried director Rodrigo Cortes’ latest project, Red Lights, a paranormal thriller, has been purchased by Millennium Entertainment. The flick, produced by Cortes, Adrian Guerra, and Cindy Cowan, stars break out actress Elizabeth Olsen, seasoned performer Robert De Niro, actress Sigourney Weaver, and Cillian Murphy.
The plot follows De Niro as a famous blind telekinetic, according to reports from The Wrap and Reuters, who becomes the number one target of a “university- backed team of paranormal skeptics.” Millennium Entertainment’s CEO Bill Lee broke the news after nabbing Red Lights. “We are thrilled with ‘Red Lights’ and excited to distribute the film. This definitely has theatrical potential and we plan to give it a standard theatrical platform release, with ancillaries coming 90-100 days later. We came to Sundance with the intention of buying ‘Red Lights’ if it was good, and we thought Rodrigo did a fabulous job with the film. UTA was terrific to deal with, and we’re both thrilled and proud to distribute the film.”
Millennium Entertainment is said to have purchased the picture for less than $4 million. An official release date has yet to be released. Will you be checking out Red Lights when it hits theaters?
