Consider me, Monique Jones, a novice when it comes to horror. I honestly didn’t know what I was expecting when I started watching the uncut version “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence” during the live chat event on Facebook, but now, after having seen the film for myself (well, most of it before I had to turn away due to my gag reflex), I can see why this film was banned in the UK.
The “mastermind,” if you will, behind this film as well as its predecessor is Tom Six. Six chatted with fans during the screening of the uncut film, and not only answered some questions about the making of the first “Human Centipede” and what he likes in films, but also gave an insight as to what’s coming next for him.
When asked by a fan about how he got the title “100% medically accurate” for “The Human Centipede: First Sequence” and if he consulted a real surgeon, Six said, “Yes, I consulted a real surgeon. He said he could actually make a human centipede in his hospital.” He also told fans that his favorite non-horror films include “Borat” and the films of the Farrelly Brothers. As far as horror goes, he wrote. “The first ‘SAW’ is a masterpiece.”
When it comes to filmmaking, Six is more about practical effects than he is computer-generated ones. When asked by a fan about how much CG is too much, Six wrote, “Very little CG[.] I don’t like it very much.”
One side project Six will embark on are creating “Human Centipede” action figures. “Yes, there are going to be merchandising dolls,” he wrote. “Yes, Dr. Heiter and Martin dolls are being produced.”
Six also gave some news on the next film in the “Human Centipede” series (do you think your stomach can take it?). “‘Part [three]’ is going to be my favorite and very crazy,” he wrote. “…’Part [three] will be 100 [percent] politically incorrect.” He also wrote that shooting for the film will start in May or June and the finished film, which will be shot in the southern US, is scheduled to be released in the beginning in 2013. One fan asked if the third installment would involve a baby centipede. “Nope, sorry, no baby centipede, but lots of other sick stuff,” Six wrote. Sick stuff, indeed.
“The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Up until the official DVD/Blu-ray release date, the uncut film will be available for viewing on Facebook.
