Wow. Yes, a rather vague way to begin a Shockya post, but watch this video from the Canadian band, Walk Off The Earth, and attempt to say the word isn’t a fitting introduction. The clip features the group performing a cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”. Multiply that beginning “wow” a few million times because the video has gone viral worldwide with 40 million views on Youtube.
The intimate video is no Rebecca Black phenomenon for all the right reasons. You will not merely be clicking play just to follow a confusing trend. Walk Off The Earth’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” deserves the plethora of hits and the ones to come. You can also watch the Burlington, Ontario based band perform the cover live on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in true Walk Off The Earth fashion, five members on one guitar.
Along with the rest of the world, Shockya has fallen for you, Walk Off The Earth. Congratulations to the quintet, which consists of Ryan Marshall Gianna Luminat, Mike Taylor, Joel Cassady and Sarah Blackwood, for reminding the world what YouTube is meant for.vHead on over to the band’s official site to stay on top of the group’s growing success.
