One of the greatest theme songs in American pop culture is “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” If you were growing up in the ’90s, you might have often rapped the theme, performed by Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff, at school, with your friends and whenever an episode was on television.
One fan of the show, Noah Mortel, went one step further in his “Fresh Prince” love by recreating the theme opening in his hometown of Bellaire, Texas. With the help of Infinitum Entertainment, he directed and edited his version of the theme opening, complete with the policeman with the donut, the thug who spins Will (played in this short by Graham Maio) on his shoulders, the mom (Yanick Mortel), Geoffrey (Eric Christopher Jones) and Carlton, played by Mortel himself.
The short film made news on Houston’s FOX 26, and now it’s making news here at ShockYa. You can watch the short film below the post or on YouTube. You can learn more about Infinitum Entertainment by visiting their website.
What do you think about the clip? Did it bring back nostalgic memories of the show for you? (It did for me.) Give your opinions in the comments section below.
