It would seem that ABC has found a winning demographic in women. The current line-up of shows, including “Desperate Housewives,” “Pan Am,” “CougarTown,” “Revenge” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” rake in a good percentage of women viewers. According to Entertainment Weekly, ABC is planning on keeping the good vibes with women going with their fall 2012 lineup.
According to the site, most of the fall lineup will consist of soaps that provide the same thrills and cliffhangers that “Revenge” gives its audiences. Some new soaps include “Americana,” a show that involves a legendary fashion designer, his family and his business; “Nashville,” a show that revolves around a star’s family in the Nashville music scene; “Devious Maids,” a show by Marc Cherry about four maids who work for Beverly Hills’ elite while working toward their own dreams and “Gilded Lillys,” a show set in 1895 that follows the opening of the first grand luxury hotel in New York City. ABC will also have an updated version of “Beauty and the Beast” and newcomers “Scruples,” based on the 1978 novel about a woman who opens a Beverly Hills clothing boutique, and “666 Park Avenue,” which is about a young couple who manage one of the most historic of New York City apartment buildings, only to discover that the building is full of the supernatural.
There will also be another supernatural show in the vein of “Once Upon a Time” and NBC’s “Grimm” called “Gotham,” featuring a female cop discovering the hidden supernatural world of New York City.
