As a fan of the book “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and the film, “Blade Runner,” I, for one, did NOT ask for a sequel to “Blade Runner.” Of course, it’s not as if I work as a movie executive or anything. But some movie executive has given the okay to a “Blade Runner” sequel. And, in all honesty, the sequel might turn out to be cool.
Not only is Ridley Scott probably going to come back to direct the sequel, but, according to Slash Film via Twitchfilm, Harrison Ford is in early talks to reprise his role as Deckard.
According to Twitchfilm, the idea of Ford being in early talks to come back to the world of “Blade Runner” “is still very early stages and it is quite possible that things won’t work out.”
Like I said, this could be a good film, but I still have my reservations. To me, everything seemed tied up in the first “Blade Runner.” What is there to explore now? Would they adapt another Phillip K. Dick story into the “Blade Runner” universe, similar to how an unrelated story was adapted into the “Pirates of the Caribbean” universe for “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”? I don’t know. If you have any ideas, give your opinions in the comments section below.
