I have recently gotten on the “Downton Abbey” bandwagon. The show is full of twists, turns, and really soapy storylines–basically, everything you need to get caught up in a show about the goings-on of a rich British family and their downstairs help before, during and after World War I. Also, when there’s a big fanbase for a show, there are bound to be arguments among women about which guy is the best
Kristen Baldwin and Jessica Shaw of Entertainment Weekly’s “Inside TV” podcast recently had a discussion about which “Downton Abbey” man is the best. According to Shaw, Mr. Bates–the strong, silent type–is the ultimate guy on the show, where as Baldwin as declared herself to be on Team Matthew Crawley. You can listen to their discussion on the “Downton Abbey” men in the latest episode of the “Inside TV”podcast.
You may be wondering which guy is my favorite. I was rooting for William, the nice, kind footman with considerable piano skills who volunteered himself for war. If you’ve been following the show, you probably know why I’m a little sad about what eventually happened to him.

Lord Grantham. Hugh Bonneville is a bom bom
Mr. Tom Branson. The Irish accent is just a plus.
I forgot all about Branson. He’s an honorable guy.
