‘True Grit’ actress Hailee Steinfeld has found her latest role according to The Hollywood Reporter. The young Steinfeld has been tapped to appear in writer and director John Carney’s upcoming musical drama entitled ‘Can a Song Save Your Life?’, a film that has been called a “feel-good romance.”
Both Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo have already been cast, and now it looks like Steinfeld has landed the part of Ruffalo’s on-screen daughter. After watching her big debut in the Coen Brother’s film we’re pretty sure she’ll work just fine with both experienced actors of the film. Anthony Bregman and Judd Apatow are on board to produce the story that follows Johansson as a singer who moves to New York. Down and out on her luck after her boyfriend dumps her, she ends up being discovered by Ruffalo’s character, a failing record producer who hopes he can change their futures.
Steinfeld, who just recently signed onto the Lionsgate thriller ‘Dead of Winter’, is also attached to ‘Romeo and Juliet’, a film she is currently shooting on, as well as Ender’s Game, and the Shakespeare inspired movie ‘Rosaline’ from director Michael Sucsy. What do you think of Steinfeld teaming up with Can a Song Save Your Life’s Johansson and Ruffalo?
