Lindsay Lohan will host the March 3, 2012 episode of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ despite the fact that she has no projects to promote, CNN is reporting. NBC made the announcement during a commercial break on the February 18 episode, which one of the sketch show’s alums, May Rudolph, hosted. The musical guest to accompany Lohan is Jack White, who will be making his solo artist debut, after working with the groups The White Stripes and The Raconteurs.
After NBC announced the news on-air, it tweeted “That’s right: March 3rd, @lindsaylohan with musical guest Jack white!!” Lohan then tweeted about the news, saying “SNL! I love @NBC!”
Lohan’s publicist, Steve Honig, confirmed the news that the ‘Mean Girls’ actress will be hosting ‘SNL.’ He said his client “is very much looking forward to hosting ‘SNL’ and working with the incredible cast, crew and writers to put on a memorable show.”
Lohan has previously hosted the show three times before, the first being in May 2004 when she was 17. The appearance coincided with the release of ‘Mean Girls.’ Her next appearance will coincide with the ending of her probation restrictions. The probation began in 2007 after she was convicted of drunk driving twice. It was extended after several violations, including missing counseling sessions, failing drug and alcohol tests and a shoplifting conviction.
