The trailer for Marvel’s “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” was really good, in my book. However, I guess the trailer was the only thing that was cut well. The film, with Nicolas Cage reprising his role as Johnny Blaze and also starring Idris Elba, has been given a really low 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and even the audience hated it, giving it a 41%.

Collectively, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the critics felt like the film had “a weak script, uneven CG work, and a Nic Cage performance so predictably loony it is no longer amusing[.]” Here’s what they said individually:

“A certain amount of cheese is acceptable, even desirable, in such a movie as this…In the case of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Neveldine [and] Taylor turn the ‘campiness’ dial to 11 with as much limburger as they can gather, but they forget a key element-the ‘action/adventure’ one. “Every action scene looks as if the directors were high on something when they shot it.
