‘Harry Potter’ actress Emma Watson, who is famously known for her role as Hermione Granger in the J.K. Rowling adaptions, has signed on to star in director Sofia Coppola’s next project, ‘The Bling Ring’. Coppola’s upcoming movie will chronicle the 2009 Hollywood thefts committed by a group of teen girls who decided to rob their favorite celebrities like socialite Paris Hilton and the troubled Lindsay Lohan. It isn’t exactly clear what role Watson will play in the burglary drama, but some sources are saying she may take on the role of one of the thieves. Aside from Watson’s casting in the film, director Sofia Coppola has also announced her happiness over the other yet to be announced actors on board. “I’m excited about the young cast where assembling and I’m looking forward to shooting on location in Los Angeles.” ‘The Bling Ring’ will be produced by Coppola’s brother Roman with the help of Youree Henley as well in the 2013 drama.
Meanwhile Watson will also show up in the 2012 release ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ from helmer Stephen Chbosky. The movie stars Logan Lerman and Nina Dobrev, and follows a freshman who takes the help of two experienced seniors. She is also on board the David Yates directed film ‘Your Voice in my Head’, a 2013 film that follows “A self-destructive writer struggles with her personal issues and embarks on the difficult road to recovery,” per IMDb.
