Things turn from bad to worse for our squeaky-clean Mary Margaret. In fact, she’s being painted as a murderer.
In Storybrooke, Emma is still investigating the disappearance of Kathryn, which is turning into a murder investigation due to the discovery of a human heart inside a jewelry box. Mary Margaret is insistent on her innocence, but the evidence keeps piling up–the jewlery box is Mary Margaret’s, there’s no sign of entry into her and Emma’s apartment, and a hunting knife was found in the apartment’s floor vent. Even worse, David goes from being an already-bad cad of person to being the worst guy ever in both Storybrooke and Fairytale Land by misinterpreting his memories of Snow White going to kill the queen to think they meant he saw Mary Margaret going to kill Kathryn. Even worse, he confronts her about it. Shouldn’t he have at least realized that Mary Margaret had long hair and was wearing a cloak in his memory? I mean, sure, he can be confused, but he should at least still give her the benefit of the doubt if she really means the world to him. Like she said, she did the same for him when he was accused of killing Kathryn, and he also had evidence against him–the missplaced phone call, anyone?
Anyway, Emma and Henry find out that Regina has a lot of keys, one of them being one that will open any and everything. Even though Emma always believed Mary Margaret’s innocence (unlike IRRITATING DAVID), this gives her enough proof to show that her assumptions were right. Meanwhile, Mary Margaret takes Mr. Gold as her attorney (who knew he had enough law experience to be a lawyer?) and someone throws Mary Margaret a key–one of Regina’s keys–that allows her to break out of jail.
Meanwhile, in Fairytale Land, Snow White’s anti-love potion, causes her to become a heartless person. After making her roommates, the seven dwarves, angry with her, she decides to be proactive about her plight and decides to kill the Queen. She goes to Rumpelstiltskin for help, and he provides her with the bow and arrow that will be able to kill the queen. James is able to find Rumple and ask him for help as well, and Rumple gives him the map that will tell him where to find Snow in order to save her. The price for such information–James’ cloak. Confused as to what Rumple would want with a cloak, he gladly gives it to him to go off and save Snow, which he does. He saves her by what always saves people in love in Fairytale Land–True Love’s Kiss. However, right after they’re reunited, James is captured again by the King’s guards. Now Snow and her dwarf friends will have to go save him.
Rumple’s new cloak comes in handy for him–using both the hair he acquired from Snow for the potion and a bit of James’ hair found on his cloak, Rumple is finally able to create a potion he’s wanted to have for so long–True Love. Now, the world of Fairytale Land is truly his for the taking.
