While Bobbi Christina did not get any vocal chops from either Bobby Brown or Whitney Houston, the same cannot be said about Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson. That will be the last name drop of the iconic and unconventional country singer, Willie Nelson. Lukas’s talents take him beyond receiving “good genes” and bring his sound into a genre that cannot be categorized since it was originated by his band, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.
The all-encompassing country, rock n’ roll and soul group will release their second full-length album, “Wasted”, on April 3rd. The quartet, which includes vocalist and guitarist, Lukas, drummer, Anthony LoGerfo, percussionist, Tato Melgar and bassist, Corey McCormick, will be on the road supporting the release from April until June.
Following the outfits 2010 debut, “Promise of the Real”, “Wasted” emphasizes Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real’s ability to gravitate towards a specific genre within an individual track, but at the same time spice that sound up with flavoring from other genres. The group’s soulful vocals and array of instrumental sounds give the band the skill to become a musical chameleon.
